Meals For Minds
You can make a direct impact on the lives of hungry children and families in our community by volunteering your time with The Food Bank For New York City’s Meals for Minds project! The Food Bank For New York City coordinates monthly grocery distributions through a mobile food pantry at high need public schools in New York City. Each child leaves the Meals for Minds pantry with 30 pounds of groceries: enough food for 25 meals and a chance at a full future.
Volunteers are needed to:
As a volunteer with Meals for Minds, you sort food, set up food stations, provide friendly service and put food directly into the hands of our neighbors in need. This volunteer opportunity is great for individuals, small groups and/or corporate groups looking to give direct, personal service in a fun, energetic environment.
While we would love to have you volunteer with us, PLEASE ONLY SIGN UP FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY IF YOU ARE CERTAIN YOU CAN COMMIT TO VOLUNTEERING. It is important that all of our interested volunteers have the opportunity to participate and fully serve New Yorkers in need.
What to wear?
Volunteers should wear closed shoes or sneakers and comfortable clothes, such as jeans and tee-shirts. For groups of volunteers, we recommend you wear a team color or your corporate tee-shirts.
