Opportunity Details
Campus Pantry in Far Rockaway
Make a direct impact on the lives of hungry children and families in our community that were directly impacted by Hurricane Sandy during these emergency grocery distributions at high-need public schools directly affected by the storm. Each child will leave school with a pantry bag of groceries to help make ends meet for families devastated by the hurricane.
As a volunteer you'll unload the truck shipment, sort food, arrange to-go style pantry bags, and put food directly into the hands of children in need. This volunteer opportunity is great for individuals, small groups and/or corporate groups looking to give direct, personal service in a fun, energetic environment.
What to wear?
Volunteers should wear closed shoes or sneakers and comfortable warm clothes, such as jeans, tee-shirts, sweaters and sweatshirts.
