Save the Date! Food Bank For New York City's 2017 MLK Weekend of Service will take place Friday, January 13th - Monday, January 16th.

Now in its 4th consecutive year, Food Bank will celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy with a weekend of service, conducting a mass renovation of Bright Temple Church in Hunts Point to create a functional soup kitchen, as well as expanding the food storage capacity of the existing pantry. As the community’s only soup kitchen, this will allow many families to have a hot meal.

To complete this renovation, Food Bank needs YOU on any days you would like to participate from Friday, January 13th through Monday January 16th. Projects will include painting, patchwork, gardening, arts and crafts, among others. Volunteer assignments will be made based on needs and availability.

"Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve," said Dr. King. Help us commemorate MLK's legacy by serving this community in Hunts Point. We look forward to serving with you!
