VITA Link and Learn Instructions
Follow the steps outlined below to create your account on Link & Learn and complete the 3 required exams!
1. Go to: Login | Link and Learn (linklearntaxescertification.com)
2. Login or create an account if you do not already have one.
- If creating a new account, you will be prompted to fill out some required fields. Please see below for the answers:
- Group: 01 VITA Volunteer
- Do you want to take SPEC OPI Training? no
- Site Coordinator: no
- Instructor: no
- SPEC manager: no
- Plan to volunteer in VITA: no
- Training Source: link and learn taxes (e-learning)
- SEID: <<<leave blank
- Enter your personal Information and create a username and password.
- Partner Organization: Food Bank for New York City
- Years You Have Volunteered: Enter 1 or more (even if it is your first time)
- Professional Status: Select one if requesting CE Credits.
- PTIN number and information: leave blank if you do not have one.
- Name as listed on PTIN Card: Enter information if you have one.
- CTEC number: Enter if any.
3. After creating your account or logging in, you will be taken to the home page. Click on the Basic tab seen below:
4. Click on the link titled "Volunteer Standards of Conduct Exam" and a window will pop-up. Click on LAUNCH to start the exam.
5. After completing the first exam, proceed to the "Intake/Interview and Quality Review Exam". Click on LAUNCH to start the exam.
6. Proceed to the next exam, "Basic Exam" or "Advanced Exam". Click on LAUNCH to start the exam.
7. Once you have completed the Standard of Conduct, Intake/Interview and Quality Review Exam, and Basic or Advanced Exam, you will be able to sign your Volunteer Agreement (Form 13615) electronically by clicking on the box as shown in the photo below.
8. After you have electronically signed the Volunteer Agreement, click where it says Click Here to open, complete and download the Volunteer Agreement (Form 13615).
9. Email your signed Volunteer Agreement (Form 13615) showing passing results for all 3 exams to taxvolunteer@foodbanknyc.org. Please note, you will not be able to volunteer until the agreement is received. We do not need to receive your exam certificates.
