Opportunity Details

Saturday Shop & Stock with Families in West Harlem

***PLEASE NOTE***

As part of Food Bank's response to COVID-19, we have made program adjustments to help prioritize the safety of our clients and volunteers. During all meal services, our clients will receive to-go meals rather than dining on site. During all pantry hours, our clients will receive to-go pantry bags rather than shopping in our pantry space. For all shifts, volunteer support will remain vital. THANK YOU for your service to your fellow New Yorkers during this time.

Volunteers assist families as they shop, check out and bag groceries, and restock shelves at our choice-style food pantry that provides more than 40,000 meals a month.

While we have a shared locker, please leave all valuables at home.

Dress Code:
  • Closed-toed shoes and shirts with sleeves are REQUIRED. No tank tops. Short or long sleeves only.
  • Long pants or skirts at or below the knee required.
  • NO Short-shorts.
For groups of volunteers, we recommend you wear a team color or your corporate t-shirts.

Volunteers age 5 and up are welcome. Minors age 5-12 must be accompanied by an adult. Minors age 13-17 may attend independently with a copy of Food Bank's youth volunteer waiver completed in advance by a parent/guardian.
