Organization Profile

Therese Cervini Annex Head Start is one of 20 programs sponsored by CCNS, Inc. All programs provide quality services to young children and their families who are treated as partners in the early care and education process. The environment in the centers and providers' homes is safe and warm. Caring and competent staff and providers guide the children's (age range of children: infants to 5.0 years) learning by exposing them to a variety of child- and adult-initiated, developmentally appropriate activities that promote their cognitive, social, emotional and physical development. Adherence to the Federal Head Start Performance Standards, the Reauthorization Act, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Health (NYC DOH MH - Article 47:11) (the Agency that licenses Child Care Programs), the guidelines of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the guiding principles of the Montessori Approach (curriculum selected and implemented) ensures that CCNS implements excellent early care and education programs. When the children leave to pursue higher levels of learning, they possess a solid foundation for continuous learning as a result of being well prepared by our programs. They are willing and "ready to learn" more to achieve lifetime success (the goal of every quality care and education program).
