SNAP Call Center Support

Project Overview: The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides food benefits to low-income families to supplement their grocery budget so they can afford the nutritious food essential to health and well-being. Food Bank For New York City helps our neighbors overcome the hassle in the SNAP application and recertification process.
The SNAP Call Center volunteer will work alongside Food Bank’s team of SNAP experts to assist community members. Volunteers will support the Call Center in various ways such as, answering phones, conducting pre-screening and making sure clients have the correct documentation. Volunteers will also assist with monitoring and logging client voicemails and emails for staff follow-up. All volunteer shifts will be supervised by a Food Bank staff member.
Both in-person and virtual shifts are available. All interested volunteers should review the opportunity details and complete the corresponding application form on the opportunity page in order to be considered.
